Our investigation in this area is focused on:
The team of GESPLAN aims to be directly involved in development, as part of the fight against poverty, inequality and global food insecurity and in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
These problems can only resolved through a collective effort and personal commitment by promoting new initiatives, networks, methodologies and approaches that help to reverse these current trends. The necessary partnerships include public-private partnerships, between the university and civil society as well as north-south. With this objective, GESPLAN has actively collaborated with several international development organizations in recent years: the United Nations Organization for Agriculture and Food (FAO), the International Potato Center of Peru (CIP), the Spanish Agency for Development and Cooperation (AECI), the ETEA Foundation for Development and Cooperation, Action Against Hunger (AcH) and the Club of Rome. Furthermore, GESPLAN collaborates with different university departments in Central America linked to Development Cooperation.
The result of this collaboration has been the execution and implementation of Development Projects in Latin America for example Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru. Additionally, GESPLAN collaborates with different international development organizations. This has led to courses and conferences on hunger and human development in which different development professionals share their lived experience and professional knowledge as part of an interdisciplinary exchange.
