Our lines of research in this area are:
The GESPLAN team aims to be directly involved in development: in the fight against poverty, inequality and world food insecurity and in the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals.
The solution to these problems implies a challenge that can only be met through collective effort and personal commitment. Public-private partnerships, academia and civil society in general in the North and South face the challenge of promoting new initiatives, networks, methodologies and approaches to help reverse current trends. With this objective, in recent years GESPLAN has actively collaborated with several international development organisations: the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), the International Potato Centre of Peru (CIP), the Spanish Agency for Development and Cooperation (AECI), the ETEA Foundation for Development and Cooperation, Action Against Hunger (AcH) and the Club of Rome Chair. Likewise, lines of collaboration have been established with departments of Central American Universities linked to Development Cooperation.
The result of this collaboration has been the execution and implementation of Development Projects in Latin America, in countries such as Honduras, Nicaragua and Peru. Likewise, collaboration with different international development organisations has led to the holding of courses and conferences on hunger and human development in which different development professionals share their experience and professional knowledge from an interdisciplinary perspective
