About
ENROLLMENTOnce the student has been admitted to the Master program, the student must formalize his/her pre-enrollment. This happens through the main services of the Vice-Rectorate for PhD and Postgraduate Studies at the UPM. These services are accessed through the Virtual Polytechnic website. Instructions for enrollment
The process of enrollment has two stages: obtaining a UPM email account and the self-enrollment itself. 1) OBTAINING A UPM EMAIL ACCOUNT
2) Online SELF-ENROLLMENT Once the UPM email account is obtained, the student must go to the “Virtual Polytechnic” platform through the following link: https://www2.upm.es/politecnica_virtual/login.upm At the UPM the full-term semester period is used and two periods of enrollment in each academic year must be used: September and February. In accordance with article 74 of the Enrollment Regulations of the UPM, full-time students must enroll in each period with a minimum of 27 ECTS and a maximum of 33 ECTS. Thus, it is necessary to enroll in all compulsory and elective subjects during the first period (a total of 27 ECTS), The Final Master’s Thesis (15 ECTS) and remaining subjects in the second period (18 ECTS) will make a total of 60 ECTS.It is worth mentioning that students must enroll in the Final Master’s Thesis during the second year of their degree program. The FMT is given annually. The Master’s Thesis begins during the online period in September and ends in June. Students have a more substantive work load during the second period. Students who have pre-enrolled in the PhD Degree Program, “PhD in Project Planning of Rural Development and Sustainable Management”, must also enroll in the “University Master in Project Planning of Rural Development and Sustainable Management”. Once the student has entered the “Virtual Polytechnic” site, a direct access to the online Enrollment page (or UPM Self-Enrollment) appears. Another route to access the UPM self-Enrollment (or online Enrollment) is as follows: - Click the “Utilities” tab.
A new window will open and the UPM Self-Enrollment page will appear.
This window contains the first of 9 steps. Each window must be filled in by following the instructions. Click “continue” to continue the self-enrollment process. For the subject selection step, choose the subjects that correspond to the period of enrollment. - 1st Enrollment - enrollment in the following subjects - with their corresponding codes - must be completed:
Remember that full-time students must enroll in a total of 27 ECTS. Add the ECTS of both the compulsory and elective subjects together. - 2nd Enrollment:
In this period the student must necessarily enroll in 17 ECTS of compulsory subjects, 15 ECTS of Final Master’s Thesis and 2 ECTS to be chosen among elective subjects. Once the student finishes the enrollment, a 4-page document in PDF format is generated. These are enrollment copies that go to: - Bank - University - Center - Student It is recommended that students keep a copy of the same information in PDF format. With these proofs of payment, the student should go to the bank before their due date (15 calendar days after the enrollment) to make the payment. The bank gives the student 3 sealed letters back (the bank keeps one copy) - a copy for the student and the Secretariat of the ETSI Agrónomos; a copy for the University; and a copy to be sent to the Center. At the beginning of the on-campus period, students must go to the Secretariat of the ETSI Agrónomos to compare their submitted documents to studies that give access to the Master Therefore, the original and certified copy of the degree certificate and transcript of records must be submitted. At that time, a student’s file will be opened at the Secretariat. It will be necessary to bring a copy of your ID card or passport. Also, students must bring two pictures for their student identity card and their student file at the Secretariat.
