ADMISSION

The Academic Commission and Quality of the Master is responsible for the admission of students to the Master’s Program. To allow students to be admitted, a series of criteria must be met as follows:

Admission criteria

The Academic Commission and Quality of the Master will evaluate the applications for admission in accordance with the following criteria:

  • Educational background and the student’s record will be valued, especially degrees with competences and knowledge related to the specialization fields of the Master using the following scales:

o Student’s record: 0 to 5 points.
o Other academic degrees: 0 to 5 points.
o Postgraduate degrees: 0 to 5 points.
o Scholarships and awards received: 0 to 5 points.
Total of this section: 20 points.

  • The professional and research experience will be valued, especially with regard to activities related to the specialization fields of the Master, using the following scales:

o Teaching and research experience: 0 to 5 points.
o Professional experience related to the Master: 0 to 5 points.
o Publications in magazines included in the Science Citation Index (SCI): 0 to 5 points per article with a maximum of 15 points.
o Other publications non-included in the SCI: 0 to 3 points per article with a maximum of 10 points.
Total of this section: 35 points.

  • Good knowledge of English and Spanish so that the student will be able to teach subjects in these languages: Score: 0 to 5 points.

  • A Letter of Motivation that candidates should write. Students should show their interest in studying the Master’s Program and the topic they would like to research should they be admitted. Score: 0 to 10 points.

  • Submission of a recommendation letter from a professional accredited in the scientific fields and professions related to the Master will be valued. Score: 0 to 10 points.

  • An interview of candidates with a member of the Academic Commission and Quality of the Master will be valued. Score: 0 to 20 points.

Applicants can reach a maximum of 100 points. If there is doubt regarding the admission of a graduate student and if the candidate’s training and experience is not in the Master’s subjects, the student could be admitted if he/she completes supplementary training lessons of the Master in order to acquire competences that are necessary for entering this program.

Notification of Admissions Decision

Entities responsible for the Master’s program will publish both a physical and an electronic definitive list of admitted students.  These lists will be available to all candidates.
