Adolfo Cazorla (Master coordinator)
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (1984).University Professor in the Department of Projects and Rural Planning of the UPM and Deputy Vice-Chancellor of Economic Affairs at the UPM. 18 years of research recognized by the Ministry of Education and Sciences.
Wide experience in management of development plans and programs in the public area. He has been Vice-Counselor of the Community of Madrid and General Director of the INIA.



José Luis Hernanz Martos
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (1978).University Professor in the Department of Forest Engineering at the UPM. 18 years of research.
His research lines are focused on systems of labor, conservation labor, soil physics, energy balances and soil mechanics. Member of the Spanish Weed Science Society, Spanish Society of Labor of Conservation/Live Soils and the International Soil Tillage Research Organization.

José Eugenio Martínez Falero
Doctor of Forest Engineering (1982).
University Professor in the Department of Economics and Forest Management at the UPM. President of the Agency for Quality, Accreditation and Prospective (ACAP) of the Community of Madrid (2007).
Expert in the analysis, simulation and treatment of environmental information and decision making for the management of natural systems.

Ignacio Trueba Jainaga
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (1965).
Professor Emeritus of the Department of Projects and Rural Development at the UPM.
He has held several positions as Permanent Representative of Spain to FAO, Roma. Permanent Representative of Spain to the World Food Program (WFP), Roma. Counselor of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food to the Embassy of Spain in Italy. Committees, congresses, seminars and executive councils of FAO and the World Food Program on 23 occasions.

Expert in environmental management of liquid wastes and in the control of digestion and biological processing processes in control conditions.

Antonio Damián García Abril

Doctor of Forest Engineering (1984).
Associate Professor in the University of Projects and Rural Planning at the ETSI de Montes. 6 years of research.
Expert in sustainable forest management, close-to-nature forest management, environmental planning, strategic planning, landscape ecology and environmental modeling.

Luis Gonzaga García Montero

Graduate in Biological Sciences (1990), Doctor in Plant Biology (2000).
Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Forest Engineering at the UPM.
He has conducted several studies and projects about the production and ecology of truffle and mycorrhizal mushrooms of forest interest. Models of sustainable territory planning in Spain and Latin America based on GIS and remote sensing. Studies about CO2 fixation in soil and weather change.

Mª Ángeles Grande Ortíz
Doctor of Forest Engineering (1996).
Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Physics and Mechanics to Natural Resources (2003) at the ETSI de Montes.
Her work is focused on sustainable forest management, close-to-nature forest management, management of urban landscaping, environmental planning, strategic planning, landscape ecology and environmental modeling.

José Antonio Manzanera de la Vega
Doctor of Forest Engineering (1988).
Associate Professor in the Department of Plant Physiology at the ETSI de Montes. 12 years of research.
Responsible for the UPM’s Research Group “Technologies and Methods for Sustainable Management”. Evaluator expert of the Forestry/Agroforestry panel of the Program “Confirming the international role of community research, research for development” (INCO-DEV) of the European Commission. Member of the New York Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science and Research, and Board Advisor of the American Biographical Institute.

Isabel Ortiz Marcos
Doctor of Industrial Engineering (2000).
Associate Professor at the ETSI Industriales.
Expert in management of projects of quality, control, quality management, safety and health and project management in international cooperation fields.

Ignacio de los Ríos Carmenado
Doctor Ingeniero Agrónomo (1996).
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (1996).
He has participated in more than 45 research projects for development and 62 viability projects in cooperation with governments, universities and enterprises in the framework of projects of engineering, regional planning and rural-local development, both in the European Union and in other countries (Peru, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Mexico, Uruguay). He has been an external Consultant of CGIAR (Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research) and the European Commission (DG Agriculture Evaluation Unit).

Susana Martín Fernández
Doctor of Forest Engineering (1998).
Hired Professor in the Department of Economics and Forest Management at the UPM.
Expert in techniques of forest and environmental information treatment and development of systems on multi-criteria decision making applied to sustainable forest management, forest fires, and the use of optimization techniques for the diminishing of losses and the development of management techniques.

Sigfredo Francisco Ortuño Pérez
Doctor of Forest Engineering (1994).
Hired Professor in the Department of Economics and Forest Management at the UPM. Six years of research.
His activity focuses on environmental economy, forest economy and rural development.

Rosario Tejera Gimeno
Doctor of Forest Engineering (2001).
Professor of Densitometry and Urban Planning in the Department of Economics and Forest Management at the ETSI de Montes.
She has been Project Director of Environmental Engineering in the group of Tragsa enterprises for eight years, serving four of those years as Project Technician. Expert in research on sustainable forest management, sustainable development, biodiversity conservation and management and management of protected natural areas.

Angel Julián Martín Fernández
Doctor of Forest Engineering.
Hired Professor in the Department of Applied Mathematics to Natural Resources.
His main research lines are related to the fields of applied mathematics to natural resources with emphasis on collecting data, analysis, modeling and statistical-mathematical optimization of natural phenomena and forest management.

Cristina Pascual Castaño


Doctor of Forest Engineering (2006).Assistant Professor in the Department of Forest Engineering at the UPM.
Her research lines are focused on forest structure, remote sensing, territorial planning, GIS and LiDAR.

José María Díaz Puente
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (2003).
Assistant Professor in the Department of Projects and Rural Planning at the ETSI Agrónomos.
Expert in participative methodologies for planning, evaluation and management of policies and programs, with emphasis on socio-economic, regional and rural development. Member of the Spanish Evaluation Association (SEE), Spanish Association of Project Engineering (AEIPRO), American Evaluation Association (AEA) and the European Evaluation Society (EES).

Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (2007). Investigadora Contratada en la Dpto. Hired Researcher in the Department of Projects and Rural Planning at the ETSI Agrónomos of the UPM.Expert in planning and management of projects of human development and food safety. She has participated in courses and seminars at the UPM, the International Menéndez Pelayo University and Rafael Landívar University of Guatemala concerning food safety and human development.

Hired Researcher in the Department of Projects and Rural Planning at the ETSI Agrónomos.
Expert in rural development and evaluation of policies and programs. Author of 6 books. Has shown 9 papers at International Congresses. Professor of the International Agris-Mundus Master. Coordinator of the module of Planning Models. Assistant coordinator of the International Master in Rural-Local Development during the 2005-2007 course years. Since 2001 he has been a tutor of essays on Projects and Integrated Rural Development Projects, as well as final Master dissertations.

Miguel Salvo Mendívil
Doctor of Agricultural Engineering (2004).
Hired Researcher in the Department of Projects and Rural Planning at the ETSI Agrónomos.
Member of Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR), International Potato Center (CIP), Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) (2006-2008). Professional Project Manager with the International Project Management Association. His specialization is innovation management in the area of rural-local development projects.
